The Guardian’s Sword by Talking Cigarette Chapter 1517

Chapter 1517

May seemed much calmer, only occasionally looking up at Sean with a smile and saying with great relief, “Sean, you’ve really grown up. I can now depend on you.”

“Aunt, you’re acting like we’re strangers. You took care of me when I was little. Now that I’ve grown up, isn’t it my job to take care of you?”

May’s heart melted when hearing Sean say so.

After a meal, the two women washed up and rested. They were too scared to sleep during the two days they spent in the abandoned textile factory.

They could finally have a good rest.

May and Caitlyn returned, and the orphanage was back on track.

Partly to celebrate and partly to make up for the two days they had not eaten, May cooked a hearty meal.

Caitlyn giggled as she looked at all the good food on the table.

“Stop giggling and eat!”

Sean patted Caitlyn on the head and urged her with a smile.

Caitlyn replied in acknowledgment and nodded heavily. Then she said, “Brother Sean, it’s so nice to have someone as reliable as you.”

“Stop talking nonsense. The food’s going cold.”

Sean said, pretending to be angry.

However, he was happy. What could be happier than getting the approval of someone he cared about?

Just then, Zander walked in suddenly.

May immediately said, “Zander, I don’t think you’ve eaten. Sit down and eat with us.”

Zander immediately shook his head at this.

“No thanks, Madam Randall. I’m not hungry.

As a subordinate, it was one of the rules Zander had always followed-not eating at the same

table as his boss. Besides, he wanted to show his respect for Sean in this way.

Sean did not care about it at all. He wanted Zander to be more flexible instead.

Zander might be his right-hand man, but Sean preferred to think of him as his brother!

“Why did you come over suddenly? Did something happen?”

Sean put down the cutlery and asked as he looked at Zander.

Zander nodded before looking at Caitlyn and Madam Randall. What Zander meant was that it was inappropriate to talk about it in front of Caitlyn and Madam Randall.

However, Sean shrugged it off and said with a nod, “Just say it here. Caitlyn and Aunt May are not outsiders.”

Since Sean had said so, Zander stopped hesitating.

“Commander, the government just sent word that Jimmy has told us where his savings are. There’s a total of 4.3 billion dollars. The money has now been confiscated by the government.” Sean nodded with satisfaction at that.

“Hand it over to Dragon Kingdom. Very good.”

However, Zander’s expression looked ghastly as he continued saying, “But the government is upset with you. They asked if we played along with Jane’s plan to get Jimmy out of prison because we knew about Jimmy’s savings.”

Sean’s brow furrowed slightly.

Zander did not elaborate, but he probably figured it out.

When Caitlyn and May were kidnapped, Sean contacted Henry to save the two women from being tortured by Jane.

Henry went to the head of the Joules Town government, Victor Barlowe, and asked him to cooperate with the rescue plan.

However, Victor did not take Henry’s advice and only let Zander take Jimmy out of prison. Besides that, the Joules Town government did not give Sean any help.
