Nora Stewart was about to speak when Colton Lawrence shouted in the direction outside the door. “Who said you could leave? Get back here!”
Nora activated her divine consciousness. With that, she discovered that Alex Rockefeller was actually carrying Phoebe Larsen while he tried to sneak away.
Nora went speechless.
‘How did you escape a Spirit Severing expert like Colton? He could’ve killed you with a single glare, alright?’ Nora thought.
Alex immediately stopped walking.
Right then, Phoebe already had clothes on… Alex’s hands were still relatively fast. Since Colton’s appearance until then, it had only been less than a minute. Phoebe already put on a shirt and a pair of pants.
“Ehh… Hehe, elders, if you want to fight, go ahead. Don’t worry about anything! Destroy this house as you wish. Anyway, I’ve got plenty of houses. I won’t ask you to pay for it. Farewell, elders!” Alex nodded and bowed.
He stooped as low as he possibly could and pretended he was a downright foolish young man.
On top of that, he hid his cultivation using a unique martial arts technique from the Ultimate Book of Medicine. Others would’ve immediately perceived him as an ordinary person.
Hence, in front of Colton, someone like him was just a pest. Colton wasn’t even bothered to take another look at Alex, let alone kill him with a glare.
He wasn’t moved the slightest.
He silently allowed Alex to leave with Phoebe Larsen.
Nora, however, wasn’t fine with that. What would happen to her if Alex left? She was no match for Colton either!
Colton was at the Advanced-Spirit Severing rank, while she was only at the Beginner-Spirit Severing rank. Their powers were worlds apart. Even if there were two of herself, Nora still wouldn’t be able to fight against Colton. Most importantly, Alex was the protagonist of this show. If Colton thought Nora had killed Maxwell Lawrence, she could forget about the show and take the
final bow in advance.
“Alex! You’re not allowed to leave!” Nora immediately shouted.
“I didn’t kill your son,” she then said to Colton.
Would Colton believe her?
Clearly, he wouldn’t!
“If you didn’t kill him, tell me then. Who did it? Was it that youngster whose pubic hair hasn’t grown out yet?” Colton asked.
“That’s right,” Nora said.
Alex immediately spoke with a quiver in his voice. “Don’t joke around, elder. I’m just an ordinary person. I wouldn’t dare think about killing godlike figures like you. You’re the one who killed him. Don’t blame it on me!”
“Shameless!” Nora yelled.
“Do you think I’m a fool? If he can kill my son, even pigs can fly! Since you dared to kill my son, I must kill you even if you are Jade Benmore’s sister!” Colton retorted.
Colton looked at the puddle of blood and flesh on the ground.
With the blood connection, he could sense that the blood did indeed belong to his son. Maxwell was Colton’s biggest pride in this lifetime, about to enter Profound Mystic rank at such a young age! Not only that, but Maxwell’s spiritual root was the most excellent among all of Colton’s sons. In the future, Maxwell would indeed surpass himself. Colton was even counting on his son to bring him to the Fairy Realm!
In the end, just like that, Maxwell’s life was extinguished!
“Die!” Colton lashed out.
His single palm attack could move mountains and seas.
Boom!
Suddenly, a golden shield appeared in Nora’s hands. Golden rays exploded and blocked Colton’s palm attack “I really didn’t kill your son, Colton. You’ve got the wrong person,” Nora pleaded.
“I’ll only believe you if hell freezes over!” Colton attacked her again.
He used his fist this time.
Boom!
Nora was sent flying, and her body crashed against a dense wall that shattered upon impact. She had flown directly from Phoebe’s house all the way into someone else’s home.
The large building shook violently. Cracks even began to appear on that floor. The building was about to collapse.
Colton instantly chased after Nora.
Meanwhile, Alex was silently dumbfounded.
‘D*mn. Spirit Severing experts really are powerful!’
‘This is way too outrageous. The fact that Dorothy and I could increase our level of cultivation rapidly is an entirely different matter! Normally, only old fellows who are several centuries old can achieve the Spirit Severing rank. Could Colton already be a few centuries old? But Nora was really only forty eight! How did she manage to reach Beginner-Spirit Severing rank? Are they all demons?’
‘Thank goodness I was smart enough!’ Alex thought.
If Colton had gone for Alex right away, Alex wouldn’t even have been able to block a single attack. Alex picked Phoebe up and quickly ran away.
Moreover, he could only escape like a normal human being. He didn’t even dare to use his abilities.
