Chapter 2378
Peter Pan knew that Ethan was one who didn’t trust others easily. Not especially since Celaine was someone close to Greedy Wolf.
When he saw Ethan walk out, he followed suit.
This concerned his precious disciple, so he didn’t dare to take things lightly either.
On nights like these in Ashburnham, the streets became very empty. There was usually nobody walking around after 10PM.
Ethan and Peter Pan walked towards where Celaine had told them about and they spotted the golden glow at the intersection from afar.
“Hurry!” he shouted before quickening his pace.
Peter Pan also ran faster.
But by the time the two of them reached the intersection, the golden glow had gone. They were too late!
Ethan cursed angrily, “Damn it!”
“Try the formation lines!” Peter Pan had already told Ethan about what formation lines to use.
Ethan immediately created the pattern that Celaine had described, but a golden light shone for just one second before disappearing.
“Damn it!” he cursed again. “This can only be used once a day!”
“These formation lines are for one time use only. We can’t go in anymore today.”
Ethan didn’t expect things to turn out like this.
Celaine must have gone in earlier, so they had to wait until the next day. This gate could only be opened once a day. Or at least, that’s how the formation lines pattern that Celaine had provided them with worked.
“What do we do now?” Peter Pan felt that all of this had happened because he had trusted Celaine too much. If anything happened to Kye because of this, he would never forgive himself.
“I don’t think it’s her,” Ethan shook his head. “Greedy Wolf must have been the one who taught her this pattern and gave her this once a day access. If we want to go in…”
A crazed look appeared in his eyes.
“I’m going to crack this door open!”
Ethan sat down cross legged, stretched his arms out and started drawing formation line after formation line. The pattern of that temporary key was definitely of some use. Perhaps he just needed to tweak a few things and he could make a permanent key.
Peter Pan didn’t say anything when he saw how crazed Ethan looked. He just hoped that Ethan could crack the code and open the door. He was losing patience soon.
Meanwhile, the door to the Underworld closed behind Celaine as she walked back in.
She didn’t waste any time and went straight to Greedy Wolf’s residence.
But it was completely empty. He was nowhere in sight.
“Where has he gone?” Celaine asked a subordinate.
“Miss Celaine, we do not know either. His Highness said he needed to attend to some matters and went out, we didn’t ask for further details.”
She knew that these people didn’t dare to lie to her, and certainly didn’t dare to question Greedy Wolf.
“Where’s the little girl then?” she asked next.
If Greedy Wolf wasn’t around, then she could just take Kye away without too much hassle.
“No idea,” the subordinates shook their heads.
They really had no idea.
Celaine frowned slightly and looked at them coldly. “Do not lie to me.”
“We wouldn’t dare to!” They immediately knelt and told her, “Miss Celaine, the little girl followed His Highness everywhere he went. We really have no idea where she went.”
Celaine was stunned.
Kye followed Greedy Wolf everywhere he went?
She actually dared to do that? This little girl really had no idea how terrifying Greedy Wolf was.
“Alright, you may be dismissed.” Celaine didn’t want to make life difficult for these subordinates since they probably really had no idea. Greedy Wolf would not allow others to know exactly where he was, not even herself. The Underworld was way too big, and she wouldn’t be able to find him herself.
She started getting a little anxious. Ethan and Peter Pan must be even more anxious waiting outside.
But where could Kye and Greedy Wolf have gone?
At this moment, Kye was staring wide-eyed at a faraway volcano spewing lava. Her eyes were filled with great astonishment!
She held onto Greedy Wolf’s leg and hid behind him. Watching the lava was both nerve-wracking and exciting at the same time. But she didn’t look afraid. She was with Greedy Wolf all the time, so she felt safe, as if all the dangers around her would stay away from her.
“Uncle, what is that? Why is there fire in the water?”
