Kye has a pure heart because she’s a child! That’s why the souls are unable to affect her at all!
With that in mind, Celaine tried to reassure her, “Don’t be afraid, Princess. These things can’t hurt you.”
Kye nodded. “I’m not afraid.”
Although she couldn’t see the souls, she could feel something lingering around her.
Ethan breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that his daughter was all right.
“What do we do now?” he asked while glancing at Peter Pan, who was still cursing at Greedy Wolf angrily.
It doesn’t look like he’ll be calming down anytime soon. D*mn, these souls sure are something… They can easily manipulate people’s minds and affect them so greatly!
“Don’t panic.” Celaine took a moment to catch her breath before continuing, “Use the water in the Longevity Pond on them. It’ll clear their heads.”
Ethan wanted to move, but he was afraid it would cause him to lose control.
“Princess, will you be a sweetheart and go get everyone some water from the Longevity Pond?”
Kye nodded and ran off to fill up a gourd with water from the Longevity Pond.
As the men drank the water, they were hit by a refreshing coolness that surged through their bodies and calmed them down significantly.
Although Peter Pan was still feeling irritable after coming to his senses, he was at least able to keep himself under control.
“What happened? I couldn’t stop myself from cursing at Greedy Wolf! That b*stard… How could he do such a horrible thing?”
Greedy Wolf had really angered everyone with his plan to destroy the world.
Ethan was able to recover from the soul’s manipulation fairly easily as he wasn’t affected all that badly. Regardless, given how powerful he was, the fact that it affected him slightly showed just how strong those souls were.
After chugging down a few mouthfuls of water, he exhaled sharply to completely suppress the urge.
Ethan then reached out to pat Kye on the head as he said, “Well done, Princess!”
“I’ll keep doing my best!” Kye replied with a giggle.
“Where is Greedy Wolf?” Ethan asked.
With the way things were, they had no choice but to kill Greedy Wolf in order to save the world from chaos.
“He’s in the Underworld. I’ll lead the way,” Celaine replied without any hesitation.
Having been hurt by the realization that Greedy Wolf was just using her the whole time, she no longer wanted to defend him like she did before.
We’re running out of time, so I can’t be worried about my injuries now! With each passing second, the situation worsens as more people get affected by these souls! We have to take care of this problem as soon as possible!
With that in mind, Celaine staggered to her feet and said, “We need to bring Kye with us. She is key to the success of our mission.”
Ethan nodded and exchanged glances with Peter Pan, who then ordered, “Geoff, you guys head on back to Greencliff and maintain order in the city. Remember to bring more of this water with you.”
“Got it!”
Brother Geoff and the others wasted no time carrying out their instructions.
Ethan and Peter Pan, on the other hand, brought Kye with them as they followed Celaine into the Underworld.
The entire world was suffering from massive destruction due to the influence of the souls.
With neither legal nor moral restraints holding them back, humanity became a terrifying force of destruction fueled by greed and ambition.
If left unchecked, they could very well bring upon the end of the world.
Ethan and the others soon arrived at the entrance of the Underworld.
He was about to open the door when a few people came bursting through it in a state of panic.
Noticing that they appeared to be making an escape, Ethan grabbed one of them and asked, “Why are you guys running?”
“The Underworld is going to be destroyed!”
