He was crouching down and scrutinizing the fruit. Though two weeks had passed, the size of the fruit remained the same. James immediately understood that the time had come for him to pluck the fruit. “Thea, give me a few more days. I’ll pluck the fruit immediately. I’ll be back by your side once I consume it and cross into the ninth rank. Don’t worry, I’ll be there when you give birth.”

Holding the fruit in his hand, James returned to the courtyard and sat in a lotus position. After hesitating for a brief moment, he opened his mouth and swallowed the fruit whole.
