“You!” Amelia’s voice became stern and the two of them were about to start a fight.
“Enough!” Kidd slammed the table and declared loudly, “This is not something we were supposed to discuss today. If there’s nothing else, then we will close this meeting.”
He had the final say in the L’Oreal family.
Since Kidd had spoken, Dawson didn’t harp on it. He smiled and bowed slightly, “Sure.”
But the smile on his face was still as brilliant as before.
The way he looked at Amelia made him seem like he had won the battle.
He knew that his competitor had made a mistake.
And it was such a serious mistake.
The meeting came to an end.
Amelia returned to her own room.
After sitting down for a while, someone knocked on her door.
“Father.”
Amelia knew that Kidd would definitely come looking for her.
“What on earth is going on?” Kidd glanced at Amelia’s tummy, then frowned and said, “You’ve really disappointed me!”
There were a few photos in his hand, and they were the same ones where Ethan was helping a drunk Amelia out of the restaurant. With the addition of Amelia’s dry retching, it was hard not to put the two matters together.
“I have the right to pursue love,” replied Amelia calmly.
“You do not!” Kidd flung the photos in Amelia’s face. “You have to take over the L’Oreal family and you must take my place! You’re not supposed to let that Dawson take everything away!”
He was furious.
But Amelia remained calm.
She picked up the photos, gently dusted them off and smiled faintly.
“Father, I will insist on doing it this way. I don’t think I’ve done anything wrong.”
“Have you thought it through?” Kidd shook his head and sighed. “Do you know what you’re giving up?”
“I know.” Amelia nodded.
Kidd didn’t say anymore.
He disappointedly shook his head and turned to leave.
When he reached the door, Kidd stopped in his footsteps.
“From today onwards, you shall stay at home and you’re not going anywhere. This Palmer Group…I’ll make sure they disappear from this country.”
With that, Kidd walked out of the room.
“These photos are so badly taken. This stupid Ethan really refused to take advantage of me at all, huh?”
Amelia looked at the photos and smiled faintly. Then she flung them all into the trash can.
She was the one who hired someone to take these photos.
“Dawson, you’d better take the credit for this properly. The best would be to completely destroy Palmer Group, and also…get rid of Ethan!”
Amelia poured herself a glass of wine and sat down on the couch in a leisurely manner. She swirled the glass in her hand and looked like nothing just happened.
She had lost all authority and was grounded at home.
She was really curious as to what Dawson was going to do about Palmer Group.
“Ethan, you’ve returned to China not too long ago, and you’re going to have to come to the US again, aren’t you?” laughed Amelia merrily. “I wonder if the news of impregnating me would make Miss Palmer upset enough to cry.”
She drank the glass of red wine in one gulp as the look in her eyes deepened and became complex.
The news was soon spread everywhere.
Everything had gone according to Amelia’s plan. Besides the people that Dawson had secretly arranged for, Amelia herself had already arranged for people to make sure this news reached China even while she was grounded.
She was going to make sure this news reached Diane’s ears!
