Chapter 2473
Despite what Peter Pan previously said about not caring about Celaine and not wanting to see her again, the sight of her being so badly wounded still angered and hurt him deeply.
Who the hell could’ve done this to Celaine? Did she run into the Demon King? Sigh… Looks like we’ll have to wait to find out the answers…
“What happened?” Ethan asked when he came over after waking up.
He frowned in confusion when he saw the wounded Celaine lying there. “How did she get hurt?”
Celaine is a pretty strong fighter, so most people are no match for her at all. On top of that, it’s unlikely for her to offend anyone with that attitude of hers. The Demon King is probably the only one powerful enough to inflict this much damage on her, but I’ve wounded him so badly that he went into hiding. Besides, he’s in Greedy Wolf’s body right now. That guy has been crushing on her for many years, so it’s a lot more unlikely that he’d hurt her.
Peter Pan shook his head. “Let’s ask her when she wakes up. Did you figure something out?”
Ethan shook his head, still clueless about everything.
He then said with a sigh, “Never mind, we’ll worry about it later.”
Looks like Brother Geoff and the others are recovering pretty well. I’m glad they all made it back alive, but what happened to Celaine? Her injuries are pretty severe. I have a bad feeling about this…
After what seemed like forever, Celaine opened her eyes all of a sudden. The first thing she did was to attack the nearest person. Fortunately, Peter Pan was quicker and stopped her in time.
“Hey! Why are you attacking me? I saved you!” he shouted angrily.
Celaine eased up when she saw that it was Peter Pan.
Despite having been betrayed by Greedy Wolf, she knew Peter Pan would never hurt her.
“Who did this to you?” Peter Pan asked.
“It was Greedy Wolf…” Celaine replied softly while shaking her head in disbelief.
Peter Pan leaped to his feet in surprise. “Greedy Wolf? How is that possible?”
As much as I hate Greedy Wolf, I know for a fact that he has loved Celaine since he was young. He even became enemies with Broken Soldier and killed him because of it, so how could he possibly hurt Celaine?
“Was it Greedy Wolf or the Demon King?” Ethan asked.
Since the two of them were sharing a single body, he figured Celaine was probably confused about who attacked her.
“It was Greedy Wolf. The Demon King is dead,” Celaine replied.
Noticing the shocked expressions on Ethan and Peter Pan’s faces, she continued, “This is what Greedy Wolf has truly been after all along. He has always been searching for the Demon King’s soul so that he could fuse with it. His plan was to eventually absorb it and become the new Demon King. He revived me because he needed my Guidance to help him absorb the Demon King’s soul. Greedy Wolf has deceived all of us! He is nothing but a complete lunatic! He found a mass grave in the Underworld and absorbed all the souls to strengthen his own. After that, he fought the gravely wounded Demon King’s soul and absorbed it completely.”
Ethan didn’t expect that him gravely injuring the Demon King turned out to be beneficial for Greedy Wolf.
I can’t believe he actually planned such a thing for over hundreds of years!
Peter Pan was trembling in anger after hearing that. “Greedy Wolf tried to kill you? Why would you even help him in the first place?”
Celaine let out a wry chuckle. “I just didn’t want to see him get absorbed by the Demon King and die.”
“Don’t you remember the kind of person he is? Do you have any idea how many people are going to die because you saved him? Have you lost all sense of rationality, Celaine? Greedy Wolf is definitely more powerful than the previous Demon King!” Peter Pan shouted angrily.
He then turned toward Ethan, who had a stern expression on his face, and asked, “What do we do now?”
